PERMACULTURE DESIGN COURSE, KYRKHULT, SWEDEN, 13-26 OCTOBER, 2014

Location:
The course will take place in Papiliona Academy for change, a social organization promoting sustainable development through education programs, coaching, consulting, and a variety of events. The site is located in the South of Sweden in the middle of a little village with the name Kykrhult. Surrounded by big lakes and deep forests, the over 100-year old wooden house is situated on 2500 sqm land gifted with old apple trees, oak, plums and a mirabelle tree. During the Course there will be time to make a trip with a canoe, gather around a fire place or swim in the big adventure bath with a couple of saunas in the nearby city Olofström.

Dates: 13-26 October 2014. The course starts at 12pm on the 13th, we recommend you to arrive the day before if coming from far.

Course program:
The 72 hour PDC at the Academy for Change in Kyrkhult follows the curriculum as laid out in Bill Mollison's Permaculture - A Designer's Manual. It covers subjects ranging from ethics and principles of permaculture, natural systems, aquaculture, sustainable design methods, patterns in nature, land restoration, water harvesting, grey water recycling, natural building, food forests and guilds, energy conservation, appropriate technology, renewable energy, urban permaculture and invisible structures.
The design course teaches how to develop sustainable human settlements, and how to extend and preserve natural systems.
